Not to be confused with the Original Result Slip — that’s a different document, printed after your exam, that costs money. The exam slip, printed before you sit the UTME, is completely free and confirms where and when you’re sitting the exam.
Step-by-step
- Log in with your registration details — the same ones you used when you registered for the UTME.
- Check your CBT centre and exam date carefully on screen before printing. If either looks wrong or unfamiliar, don’t ignore it — see the troubleshooting note below.
- Download and print the slip on A4 paper, ideally in colour so your passport photo is clearly visible.
- Bring the printed slip and a valid ID to the exam centre on the day. Most centres won’t admit you with only a phone screenshot.
Why printing early matters
Slip-printing windows open days before the exam, and centres get crowded with last-minute printers on the final day — cyber cafés near popular centres often have queues or run out of paper. Print at least two or three days before your exam date, not the night before.
Common snags
- My CBT centre looks wrong or too far from where I live. This happens more often than it should. Don’t just show up somewhere else — centre changes have to go through JAMB, not decided unilaterally on exam day. Raise it as early as possible; see our troubleshooting guide.
- The slip won’t print — blank page or error. Usually a browser or printer driver issue, not a JAMB problem. Try a different browser, or save the PDF and print from a cyber café instead of printing directly from your phone.
- My name or date of birth is spelled wrong. Minor typos can sometimes be corrected through JAMB’s official correction window before the exam — don’t just print it anyway and hope no one notices at the centre.
FAQs
Does the exam slip cost anything?
No. It’s free. If a site or cyber café is charging you specifically for printing this slip (beyond a small paper/printing service charge), that’s not a JAMB fee.
Can I use a photocopy instead of a fresh printout?
Bring an original printout if at all possible. Some centres are strict about this, and it removes any ambiguity at the door.
